Just before the First Dance, it was time to cut the cake. Really cool cake, amazing details!

Great choice of First dance here, one of our favourite Rolling Stones’s song ‘ Wild Horses’

First dance – Wild Horses

Straight after the first dance we kick off with our first set, and it’s fair to say everyone had a good boogie, us included!

Richard & Helen’s Wedding at Park View Farm in Wokingham

2 July 2016

Richard & Helen’s wedding was great fun! Their marquee was a giant tipi tent by a beautiful lake and you could feel like festival when we got there, very cool!

Their first dance was ‘Tender’ by Blur, great choice of song, first time we heard this song played as a first dance, and that was great choice as the song brought everyone together in a very hippy way, we loved it!

After our last set, they also had organised a Firework display which was amazing and a great treat for everyone! On our live set we played some songs we don’t often play which were so much fun to do, such as: ‘Back in black’ by Acdc, ‘Can’t Stop’ by The Red Hot Chili Peppers, ‘Smells like teen spirit’ by Nirvana and many more……

Richard & Helen’s guest were a fantastic crowd to perform to, the dance floor was full from start to finish, I think it’s fair to say everyone had a fantastic evening.

We wish the happy couple all the very best for the future.

Laura & Freddie’s Wedding at The Garden Barn, Little Bradley

25 June 2016

It was an adventurous journey, heavy rain and flooding areas,  to get to The Garden Barn for Laura and Freddie’s big day but we finally made it in one piece, and had a great time playing for them both and their guests.

Congratulations to the happy couple.

It was a pleasure to play their first dance ‘Sail Away’ by David Gray, beautiful song!

Platinum Band @ The King’s Head, Guildford

8 February 2016

Great night at the King’s Head in Guildford. This is a great pub for live music (also has open mic every Thursday), excellent food & great selection of drinks. Great turn-out tonight too – lots of people watching and getting down on the dance floor . It was brilliant fun to play and we performed quite a selection of songs from I’m A Believer by The Monkees, to Locked Out Of Heaven by Bruno Mars.

Here we are setting up – getting ready to rock!

James Palmer on drums tonight and Rose Kimberley on vocals, filling in for Tasch. Both fantastic musicians and it’s always a pleasure to share a stage with these guys!

Platinum Band -New Year’s Eve @ West Surrey Golf Club

3 January 2016

The band were back out working hard again this New Year’s Eve!

Our work never feels too hard though, when everyone has a great time! The members of West Surrey Golf Club were up dancing the minute they finished their dinner! Impressive! We played quite the old-school rock n roll setlist tonight, performing tunes such as ‘You Never Can Tell’ (Chuck Berry), ‘Brown Sugar’ & ‘Jumping Jack Flash’ (Rolling Stones), ‘Drive My Car’ (The Beatles) & ‘You Really Got Me’ (The Kinks). It was really good fun to play a lot of songs we don’t often have requested in the set! We love the more modern stuff and the rockier side like AC/DC, but to fill the dance floor  you can’t beat a bit of 60s rock n roll!

West Surrey Golf Club is a lovely place in a great location! Check out their site if you’re a keen golfer or looking for a great function venue: www.wsgc.co.uk

WESTSURREYMAIN

I have to say that we were treated exceptionally well on this gig – we had a very stylish changing room to ourselves and we were brought amazing food (great veggie option tonight too, which is rare!), and we were offered refreshments throughout the night.

We had so many praising comments at the end of the night – we always appreciate feedback (especially when it’s positive haha) and glad everyone enjoyed the music and had a memorable time seeing in 2016!

Platinum Christmas Eve Gig @ The Grantley Arms, Wonersh, Guildford

29 December 2015

Fantastic night playing at the Grantley Arms for Christmas Eve! This is one of Surrey’s finest pub/restaurants. Well worth a visit at any time of the year. Recently refurbished and under new management, the country pub boasts great food, an excellent drink selection and friendly atmosphere. www.thegrantleyarms.co.uk

Platinum band performed for almost 4 hours in the end – the crowd were loving it and we were asked to continue until the early hours! We included many classic Christmas songs in our set list this evening for a good old merry sing-along? Amongst the favourites were ‘All I Want For Christmas’ -Mariah Carey, ‘Fairytale Of New York’ – The Pogues and ‘Do they Know It’s Christmas’ -Band Aid. These all went down really well and we also had a guest singer, brave enough to let us accompany her for ‘Last Christmas’ by Wham!

Here’s a pic of our singer, Rose Kimberley and our captive audience during our spontaneous rendition of ‘We Will Rock You’ by Queen:

Great night, lovely people, and a memorable way to kick off Christmas Day!

Christmas Dinner & Dance @ Wotton House in Dorking, Surrey

6 December 2015

One of Surrey’s finest venues, Wotton House, boasts a wonderful setting in the countryside between Guildford and Dorking. Lovely drive to our gig this evening! If you would like to check out the venue, here’s a quick link: www.wottonhousedorkingsurrey.co.uk

The first Christmas party of the season for us tonight and we played some classic xmas tunes such as ‘All I Want For Christmas’ by Mariah Carey and ‘Merry Christmas Everybody’ by Slade. The crowd were amazing – really up for a dance and a sing; the energy was great!

Our regular dep singer Rose has recently been filling in for Natascha, who is due to become a mother next month!
Rose is a superb singer and does a great job getting the audience involved and suggesting some brilliant dance moves! If you’d like to find out more about her and hear some audio samples, here’s a link to her website: www.rosekimberley.com

A pleasure to play for these guys tonight – makes our job easy and fun to do!

Hasta la next one!

Wedding @ the Burlington Hotel in Folkestone, Kent

9 November 2015

More of a post-wedding party tonight! Celebrating the marriage of  Kelly & Nathan, in this awesome venue by the sea, at the edge of Kent! www.theburlingtonhotel.com

Platinum Band @ The Burlington Hotel, Kent

Great to have the delectable Rose Kimberley back on vocals for this gig, and slightly indie-rock-heavy set list this evening. We got to perform many of our favourite tunes by the likes of Kings Of Leon, The Kooks and Kula Shaker (all the K’s)! Threw in some motown and soul for good measure too, which always ensures great shapes and moves on the dance floor!

One of the guests performed a duet of ‘King’ by Wheezer with our singer, which was fab! A new song for us and it went down amazingly well!

Special shout out to the mother of the bride, who provided a fantastic vegan buffet for the evening! Two of us in the band are vegetarian and so were very happy to sample the array of tasty nibbles!

Everyone had a great night & lots of fun on the dance floor, and from the band perspective we were looked after amazingly well and really enjoyed the gig!
