Eileen & Allan’s Wedding Partay!
9 October 2014
This was actually a sort of True Rumours Duo -Platinum Band hybrid gig. As an acoustic trio (guitars vocals and cajon) we are able to play some of our favourite upbeat wedding and party songs, as well as bringing it down for a more mellow, romantic atmosphere when the bride, groom or guests felt the desire for a slow dance or too!
We have to say a big thanks to this absolutely lovely couple – they couldn’t have made us feel more welcome (sometimes a band can feel a bit like gate-crashers!) And another thing very worthy of a mention here is that Eileen surprised us all by performing a few acapella irish tunes at the end of the evening. It’s great to be entertained at your own gig!
This was a fairly intimate gathering of friends and family and whilst the couple were reluctant to have too much fuss and attention directed at them, we did manage to coax them into having a first dance! I think they may have even done two in the end!
The setting for this gathering was on a private residence in Oxfordshire, overlooking rolling hills and endless countryside – fantastic!
Shout out also to ‘New Folium’ who provided the marquee – one of the warmest, and best-looking marquees we have had the pleasure to play in! ‘Yes, you get fussy about these things when you’re a function band..’ It is always good to feel we (along with our musical equipment) are well-protected from the UK Weather! This company also provided the catering for the occasion. Really professional, friendly people to work alongside. We highly recommend them if you are planning an event in the area! – further information at www.newfolium.com
We wish all the best to this happy couple!
